Theoretical And Clinical Study On Fei LuoTong He Ji's Influence On Interleukin-8 Production In Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Objective: This article hold that inordinate cytokine network in COPD is relative to traditional Chinese Medicine's collateral disease. According to this theory ,we make a compound Chinese herb named Fei Luo Tong He Ji and observe it's influence on IL-8 production in COPD.Methods:60 confirmed COPD in acute stage patients were randomly divided into two groups .30 patients of the treated group were treated with Fei Luo Tong He Ji ,assisted with western medicine .30 patients in control group were treated with western medicine simply . The related items were measured before and after the treatment. Results: The clinical study showed that pulmonary ventilator function such as FEV1 %and FEV1/FVC were increased more significantly than that in control group(P<0.05) .and Interleukin-8(IL-8 ) production in treatment group were decreased more significantly than that in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion: Fei Luo Tong He Ji has the significant effect in increasing pulmonary ventilator function of COPD. The functionary mechanism may be relative to its inhibiting IL-8 released.
