The Exploration On The Correlation Between The Kidney And Brain

Objective: To study the basic theory of the kidney essence generating the brain so as to provide physiological evidence for the theory that "the kidney is communicated to the brain".Methods: The concept of the kidney essence and brain and connotation the theory of "the kidney being communicated to the brain" were further discussed on the basis of a thorough review of the kidney essence and brain theory from theoretical aspect. The survival capacity and the number of cell processes were determined and the effect of Bushen Yizhi decoction (BSYZD) on the brain of rats at different ages was further analyzed through serum pharmacology of CCM and nervous PC12 cells cultivation from the aspect of experiment.Results: The concept of the kidney essence and the brain were further defined theoretically, and connotation the theory "the kidney being communicated to the brain" was further made aware. The BSYZD was more influential on PC12 proliferation rate in the old rats than in the young ones at different dosage of serum. What's more, the cell process was different significantly from that in the controlled group, which suggests that BSYZD might promote the growth of neuron.Conclusion: The growth of nervous cells serves as the proof for the promoting effect of BSYZD on neuron though cell cultivation. It is indicated that the promotion of the growth of neuron might be part of biological evidence for the correlation of the kidney and the brain.
