Objective: To observe the clinical curative effect of treating reflux esophagitis(RE) with Shu-Gan-Jiang-Ni-Tang and explore the mechanism of which from theoretical and clinical aspects. Methods:60 case with RE were divided into two groups at random. The treatment group was given Shu-Gan-Jiang-Ni-Tang, the control group was given Ranitidine+Motilium. Symptoms and signs of each group were observed before and after the treatment. Results:The treatment group' s main effective rate of the syndrome of TCM, main effective rate of the gastroscopic rate were 76.67%, 86. 67%;the control group's were 43.33 %, 63. 33%. There is a significant difference (P<0. 05) or very significant difference (P<0.01) between the two groups. Shu-Gan-Jiang-Ni-Tang can improve more significantly the symptoms such as waterbrash, heartburn, gasteremphraxis and gasteralgia, swalloupain, Thirsty and bitterness than Ranitidine+Motilium. Conclusions: Shu-Gan-Jiang-Ni-Tang is an effective drug of treating RE. Its mechanism might have relations with regulating LESP, inhibiting stomach acid excrete, advancing stomach creepage and repairing esophagus mucous.
