The author had known of and grasped the newest development in emotion leading to infertility through the index and review of the documents and material about traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and western medicine, then began to explore the clinical study and experimental test.Objective: To explore the correlation between the emotion of TCM leading to infertility and the mental status, mental reaction, personality character and endocrine. The study tried to find out the syndrome of TCM and the psychological factors plus the plasma prolactin (PRL) of the patient suffering from infertility by means of clinical questionnaire and experimental endocrine test, then to make the evaluation and statistics analyses of these data.Method: By means of case-control, 212 normal women and 208 infertility women were evaluated by Hamilton depression rating scale for depression (HRSD), Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA), Life event scale (LES), Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) and diagnostic questionnaire of symptoms and signs, and the levels of PRL of 154 patients were tested in the experiment. The data were done with multiple regression models by statistical software.Result: (1)The scores in case of the depression and anxiety were higher markedly than those in the control, but there was difference between the congenital and acquired infertility women. With the increasing of the infertility stage and the age of infertility women, the scores in case of the depression, anxiety were higher yet. (2)The scores in case of the total life event and the negative life event were higher markedly than those in the control, but there was difference between the congenital and acquired infertility women. With the increasing of the infertility stage, the scores in case were higher yet. (3)The ratio with the incline to extrovert and unstable personality character in the case was higher than in the control.
