Background: Chronic Gastritis(CG) is one of common diseases in clinical medicine. It has the highest incidence of all kinds of digestive diseases. Chronic Gastritis can result from multiple causes. A number of factors have been identified that can appear to be important in the pathogenesis of individual cases, including physical and chemical factors such as thick tea, hard drinks, coffee, and non-steroidal anti—inflammatory drugs for a long time. Autoimmune factors are involved. The focus is biologic factors. Helicobacter pylori is the highlight of recent research in the upper alimentary diseases(including Chronic Gastritis). A lot of evidences have showed that Helicobacter pylori is a most prominent aetiology of gastritis in pylori antrum. At the same time, psychological factors could not be neglected. With the development of the society living conditions have been improved much. But the polluted air, uncomfortable voices, the rhythm and pressure for work make many people feel sick. The disease spectrum changed as the conditions came into being. The psychosomatic diseases have played the important roles in many diseases rapidly. That Traditional Chinese Medicine considers emotional factors as aetiology for many diseases guides clinical medicine effectively today.Objective: To explore the correlation between the emotional factors and Chronic Gastritis and manifestations of the emotional factors through the objective list in order to develop the aetiology of seven emotional factors and provide suggestion for clinical medicine.Method: A total of 70 patients with Chronic Gastritis were investigated with Symptom Check List-90(SCL-90).
