Clinical Study On Electrical Plum-Blossom Needle For Treatment Of Juvenile Myopia

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of electrical plum-blossom needle on juvenile myopia,and try probing into the mechanism of electrical plum-blossom needle treatment of juvenile myopia. Methods120 students(237 eyes) with mild myopia were randomly divided into two groups.One group was treated with electrical plum-blossom needle,the other group was treated with tropicamide eye drops.Observe the changes of visual acurity,diopter, corneal refractive power,axial length,lens thickness and ciliary body thickness. ResultsElectrical plum-blossom needle had a better effect than tropicamide eye drops for mild myopia.119 eyes were treated with electrical plum-blossom needle.The visual acurity of 96 eyes (80.67%)increased above two rows,including 20 eyes (16.81%)increased five or above five rows and 76 eyes(63.87%) increased three or four rows. The visual acurity of 23 eyes (19.33%)increased less two rows. Electrical plum-blossom needle had no effect on diopter,corneal refractive power and axis of eye.But lens thickness,ciliary body thickness had decreased after the electrical plum-blossom needle therophy. ConclusionElectrical plum-blossom needle can improve visual acurity evidently, correct ametropia induced by spasm.The method of electrical plum-blossom needle had no side effect,which was easily accepted by patients.People can learn it rapidly and easily.Therefore, it will be of great value for prvention and treatment of juvenile myopia.
