The Investigation On Epidemiological Of Schistosomiasis In Gaochun County

Schistosomiasis is a bad , municipal, parasitic disease. It caused by S.japonicum that inhabit the animal weeny blood vessls of V. portea ,such as humans ,cattle ,sheep ,pigs , dogs and rodents . It brings heaps of harmful effects to hosts . At one time it was even more widespread in Changjiang drainage basin and Southern China . Gaochun County stand in the south of Changjiang River , Southwest of Jiangsu province .Schistosomaisis even was Gaochun County's endemic in the history . Then through programs protect for many years . It has been effective controlled by 1970's. It has been reached which mainly exterminated in 1986. but in the recent years ,the patients of this disease increased and speeded quickly around .The surveying is the important part of control programs, and also important method of understanding epidemic regularity and phenomenon of schistosomiasis. This research's motive is grasping the Oncomelania hupensis distribution sits, acreage, infection rate, threatened -animal, effect of perishing of Oncomelania hupensis and high risk group, So that establishing the suitable scientific measure, and providing scientific basis for adjusting and perfecting steps of control programs according to epidemic traits.The main results are as follows: in 2003,the acreage of surveying Oncomelania hupensis is 848.5 hectares, the acreage with Oncomelania hupensis is 62.6125 hectares, the infectious Oncomelania hupensis's area is 31.6 hectares and as 26 times which in 2002. Four indicating-mouse's points of inspection show that the positive infection rate is 100 per cent in Yangjia Gulf (the outer of water gate), which is 96.67 per cent in Nandang and 100per cent in Sanba, excluding Guanxi River (inside of water gate). The average infection rate of indicating-mouse is 75.65 per cent. There are two cases of cattle with schistosomiasis, and there are 7064 cases of high-risk person being inspected, and the 418 cases are positive including 18 cases being acute, In 2004, the acreage of surveying Oncomelania hupensis is 1279.15 hectares, the acreage with Oncomelania hupensis is 65.515 hectares including new area of 2.88 hectare, and the positive area is 30.5325 hectares. Six indicating-mouse's points of inspection show that the positive infection rate is 35.71 per cent in Nandang, and the other points is negative. In animal test, there are onecattle and four sheep with schistosomiasis. 499 cases of high-risk person are positive in serum test, and 34 cases including 4 acute cases are positive in feces test.The result of surveying indicate that the epidemic situation of our county have be controlled effectively in 2004.these can be showed from obviously decreasing of patients. But area with Oncomelania hupensis are increasing and the Oncomelania hupensis with S. japonicum decreasing slowly. The main reasons may be adjacent area's direct influence. Drug resistance and crab culturing pool with S. japonicum.
