| ObjectiveTo know the epidemic range,epidemic intensity,epidemic characteristics and trends of echinococcosis in Eryuan County and to explore the factors affecting the infection rate of echinococcosis.At the same time,health education was conducted among farmers and herdsmen to promote the awareness of the knowledge on the control and prevention of echinococcosis.Methods1.Study objects:In Eryuan County,the administrative villages with the potential risk of infection were selected as the research objects.These villages located in the mountainous area.Two to three administrative villages in each town were randomly selected as study sites.2.Human investigation of echinococcosis:Two thousand and five hundred people were investigated in those selected villages.At least 2ml each person was collected using venipuncture for blood collection and the antibody was detected by ELISA method.3.Dog investigation of echinococcosis:Five hundred dogs were investigated in those selected villages.At least 5g fresh feces each dog was collected and the antigen was detected by ELISA method.4.Investigation for the knowledge on the control and prevention of echinococcosis:Based on the questionnaire made by Yunnan Institute of Parasitic Diseases,the data on the demographic,the awareness rate of knowledge on the control and prevention of echinococcosis,and related risk factors were collected through interview and field observation.5.Data management and analysis:The crowd of echinococcosis antibody questionnaire and the canine fecal echinococcosis antigen questionnaire were entered using Excel 2007.The echinococcosis disease prevention knowledge questionnaire was entered using EpiData software.The data was analyzed by SPSS 17.0 software MapInfo software was used for map production.The rates were compared by Chi-square test.The positive factors of antigenic antibody were analyzed by Logistic analysis.Results1.Among 9460 people investigated,348 were positive and the positive rate was 3.68%.The region,gender,nationality,occupation,and age were analyzed.Among all the towns,the highest antibody positive rate was in Cibihu town,the rate was 6.46%(68/1053),The lowest antibody positive rate was in Qiaohou town,the rate was 1.01%(11/1094);The antibody positive rate was not significant difference between different genders;Among all the minority nationality,the Yi nationality has the highest antibody positive rate was 5.1%(36/706);Among different occupations,peasant has the highest antibody positive rate,was 4.37%(249/5696);In different age groups,the highest antibody positive rate was 41-50 group,the rate was 5.12%(46/1544).Age was a meaningful factor for the infection rate of echinococcosis,the older the greater the positive rate of echinococcosis antibody.2.Among 2034 samples investigated,246 were positive,the positive rate was 10.68%.The results included area,dog age,dog sex,dog usage,feeding mode,diseased organs feeding or not,echinococcosis patients,and living style.Among all the towns,the highest positive rate of antibody was in Fengyu town,the rate was 29.82%(82/275);Considering the age of the dog,1-3 year old group had the highest antigen positive rate,the rate was 11.72%(160/1365);Guard-dog has the highest positive rate,10.79%(245/2270),among different kinds of dogs;Considering the feeding mode,Stocking dogs has highest positive rate,the rate was 11.87%(214/1803);And the dog which eat the diseased organs has the highest positive rate,the rate was 18.84%(13/69).Logistic analysis,the results of stocking,feeding the animal organs of the dog's antigen positive rate is higher.3.Atotal of 1824 questionnaires was finished.For job,peasant accounted for 76.15%.For education level,primary school or middle school graduates accounted for 96.44%.Among all the investigated,farmers,herdsmen,students have the lowest awareness of the prevention knowledge,and these people also have the highest risk of dangerous behavior.It is very necessary to strengthen the health education for farmer,herdsmen,and students.Conclusions1.In this investigation,the number of antibody positive infection of echinococcosis was 348,the positive rate of antibody was 3.68%,showing a low epidemic status,which reached the national three kinds of monitoring points.Among them,the positive rate of antibody was high in peasants and 41-50 years old group.2.The number of Dog-echinococcosis antigen positive was 246,the infection rate was 10.68%.Stocking,feeding the animal organs of the dog's antigen positive rate is higher.3.Awareness rate of echinococcosis disease prevention knowledge was low(especially in farmer and primary school students)in Eryuan County.It is very necessary to strengthen the health education. |
