This paper is composed of five parts, the first part briefly reviewed about the chemical constituents and pharmacology of Rubus. L and blamble. The next four parts are experiments, in which the seeds and seeds oil, proanthocyanidins, the chemical constituents and the effective hypoglycemic substance of the leaves of blamble were studied.Part One. Studies on the Bramble Seeds and Seed OilStudies were conducted on properties of bramble seeds and seed oil of 10 varieties which were belonged to raspberry or blackberry. The result are as followed: 1. Oil yield from the seeds is 8.81%, 2. The content of unsaturated fatty acid (UFA) is 91-98%. The main fatty acid are linonic acid .C18:2 (52-66%). The proportion of fatty acid are differently slightly. The content of linolenic acid (c18:3 is 28-36%. 3. The seed oil is rich in tocopherols which contain a-,γ-and d-3 typse. Contents of the total tocopherol is 73144mg/100 g and the biologically active- Vitamin E was 3683mg/100 g. This results will support farther study and utilization on the bramble seeds.Part Two. Analysis of Proanthocyanidins in Blamble Reeds by HPLC/MSThe analysis of oligomeric proanthocyanidins and their relative content in raspberry seed extracts was performed by high-performance liquid chromatography with electrosptry ionization mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI/MS). Monomer and oligomers were identified according to the MS and MS2 of pseudomolecularion molecularion [M+H]+or pseudomolecularion [M-H]-. The isomeric compounds of monomers and dimmers were identified according to the Relative Time. The relative contents were calculated by the integral area of every compound. 2 monomers, 2 dimers and 3 trimers of proanthocyanidins were identified in raspberry seed. The dimer was the major composition, monomer was of second, and trimer was of the least.
