Clinical Observation Of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation Treated By Acupuncture At Three Special Acupoint At Waist

Objective:To observe the clinical effect, the change of lumbar vertebra CT performance and electromyography and blood stream diagram of lower limb of the lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion patients treated by acupuncture at three special acupoint at waist, so that we can approach the mechanism of action of three special acupoint at waist to the lubar intervertebral disc protrusion and provide theoretical foundations for three specialacupoint at waist therapy to the lubar intervertebral disc protrusion. Methods:Forty patients were selected. They were treated by acupuncture at three special acupoint. We selected three intervertebral space: L3 ~ L4,L4 ~ L5,L5 ~ S1 At the affected side, we selected three points and each point located beside every intervertebral space 1cm. Observer the clinical effect and detect the change of lumbar vertebra CT performance and electromyography and blood stream diagram of lower limb both prior treatment and post-treatment. Results:1. After therapy, there were 23 patients healed and the percentage was 57.5%; there were 10 excellence, 5 utility, 2 unavailability. The total effective rate was 95.0%.2. After therapy, lumbar vertebra CT displayed the size of protrusion diminished obviously. Compared with prior treatment, there was significant difference (p<0.05).3. Before therapy, there were different degrees changes of electromyography with all patients. It showed conduction of velocity of common peroneal nerve and tibial nerve got slow and distal latency got long. After therapy, conduction of velocity got fast obviously, compared with prior treatment, there was significant difference (p<0.05); distal latency shortened obviously, compared with prior treatment, there was significant difference(p<0.01)4. Before therapy, there were obvious abnormalities in blood stream diagram ofaffected limb. It showed amplitude of wave decreased, rise time prolonged and vascular resistance index increased. Compared with unaffected extremity, there was significant difference (p<0.05). After therapy, there were obvious improvements in blood stream diagram of affected limb. It showed amplitude of wave heightened and vascular resistance index cut down. Differences of two sides amplitude of wave deflated obviously. Besides, rise time had a tendencyof shorten, but it had no statistical significance. Conclusion:1. This therapy method can relieve and eliminate the patients' clinical symptoms and sings and symptoms. It has got distinguished therapeutic efficacy. It can be an effective method to lumbar intervertebral disc herniation.2. After therapy, lumbar vertebra CT displayed the size of protrusion diminished obviously. The reason may because that this therapy can relieve part muscle convulsion, generate mechanical motivation and promote recovery of herniated macleos polposus.3. After therapy, conduction of velocity got fast obviously and distal latency shortened obviously. It shows that this therapy can improve functions and actions of compressed nerves significantly.4. To acupuncture three special acupoint at waist, limb blood flow circulations were improved significantly. It shows acupuncture can relieve part muscle convulsion, lessen or eliminate dropsy of radicular neuritis, broaden spasmodic arteriole, stimulate the increase of intramusculary blood circulation priming volume, make the vasomotor function normal andamend microcirculation.
