Objective: To investigate the relationship among cholinesterase and Child -Pugh score of cirrhosis. To investigate the clinical significance of serum cholinesterase (ChE) of patients with liver cirrhosis. Method: Totally 49 patients diagnosis as Child-Pugh score A to C of cirrhosis and 30 normal healthy volunteers as comparison group were enrolled in this study. Serum cholinesterase of the patients with cirrhosis were detected. Result: Based on the data collected, the level of serum cholinesterase were decreased followed by Child-Pugh score A to C (p<0.05). Statistically, there's a strong corelation between serum ChE activity and patients with liver cirrhosis (P<0.01).Conclusion: The level of serum cholinesterase can sensitively reflect the synthetic function and the damage of the liver. It can be significantly helpful on evaluating the clinical conditions of patients with liver cirrhosis.
