Objective: To investigate the changes of sex hormones and liver function in patients with cirrhosis, and to analyze the relationship between them.To establish a theoretical and experimental basis for evaluating the relationship between the sex hormones level and liver function in patients with cirrhosis. Methods: A total of 98 patients with cirrhosis were selected as the experimental group, including 63 male patients and 35 postmenopausal women.50 healthy people were selected as control group, including 30 men and 20 postmenopausal women. These people were divided into male experimental group, male control group, female experimental group and female control group. The liver function of the experimental group was evaluated according to Child-Pugh score and MELD score. The levels of serum testosterone(T),estradiol(E2),progesterone(P),follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH),and prolactin(PRL)were measured by radioimmunoassay in all cases. The data were analyzed by soft ware SPSS 21.To analyze the changes of sex hormone levels and its relationship with the degree of liver damage in patients.Results:1.Changes of sex hormones in male experimental group: the serum levels of E2 and P were higher than the control group, the serum level of T and TSH were lower than the control group(P<0.05),and the serum levels of LH and PRL were not significantly different(P>0.05).2.Changes of sex hormones in female experimental group: the serum E2 level was higher than the control group(P<0.05),the serum levels of FSH and LH were lower than the control group(P<0.05),and the serum levels of T,P,and PRL were not significantly different(P>0.05).3.The relationship between the changes of sex hormones and the progression of liver cirrhosis in male experimental group: with the aggravation of liver injury,According to MELD score and Child-Pugh score,P gradually increased(P<0.05)and T gradually decreased(P<0.05).4.The relationship between the changes of sex hormones and the progression of liver cirrhosis in female experimental group: with the aggravation of liver injury,According to MELD score and Child-Pugh score,E2 gradually increased(P<0.05)and FSH gradually decreased(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.There are disorders of sex hormones in patients with cirrhosis.2.There was a correlation between the degree of liver injury and the changes of T and P in male patients with cirrhosis.P and T can be used as an index to evaluate the prognosis in male cirrhosis.3.There was a correlation between the degree of liver injury and the changes of E2 and FSH in female patients with cirrhosis.E2 and FSH can be used as an index to evaluate the prognosis in female cirrhosis.
