Research Of Relationship Between Informed Consent, Psycho-social Factor And Quality Of Live For Patient With Cancer

OBJECTIVE: The main purpose is to study the relationship among informing cancer patients, psycho-social factors and Quality of Life, and to discuss the feasibility and strategy of informing cancer patients. RESEACH DESIGN AND METHODS: 1. Using several psycho-social scales and questionnaire of QOL with reliability and validity to measure the psycho-social variables , the level of QOL, the study surveyed 113 inpatients with different kinds of cancer. 2.Using a self-developed questionnaire to analyze the attitude about informing cancer patients, the study surveyed 215 persons, some of them are those cancer inpatients' relatives, some of them are doctors and nurses and the rest are general persons. RESULTS: l.By stepwise regression statistical analysis, the study find the main direct factors influencing QOL, the positive factor is informing cancer patients, the negative factor is TAI. The study also find the factors influencing QOL indirectly. SAI, occupation, PS indirectly influence QOL through influencing TAI. SSRS, sex, occupation, education and S-KG indirectly influence QOL through influencing informed consent. 2. Sex, age, job, education level, religious, their relatives with or without cancer, weather or not inpatient' relatives do not influence the attitude about informing cancer patients. It is very different between attitude about informing their relatives truth who have cancer and self be informed truth by others when yourself have cancer. The study find the main factors influencing the attitude informing yourself: Informing patients truth is helpful for treatment and recovery. The study also find the main factors influencing the attitude informing yourself when you have cancer: weather or not you have relatives with cancer, do not want to know the truth because of despair, hope to know the truth even though fear, informing truth is helpful for treatment and recovery, informing truth be helpful to make plan for the future and enhance QOL. CONCLUSION: Before telling truth,assess the physical and psychological ability of accepting the truth. Then making informing plan accordingly and adept informing ways skilly, help patients spent the special time to adept disease fact, enhance their QOL.
