Purpose: to design a speed-constant rectal infusioner that can be fabricated in laboratory because there are no speed-constant pumps commercially available specially for rectal infusion use. It has the benefit of objectivity and quantification that a standard speed-constant rectal infusion is used to determine the function of rectum and anus on liquid stool continence, to assess the degree of incontinence if exist when comared with only inquiry of patients about the frequency of incontinence and the stool consistency for the same purpose, as usually used .Method: As showed in fig 1 , four general rectal infusioners (A,B,C,D) each of which composed of one container and a drain tube were reconstructed of their figure and configuration and reassembled a speed-constant rectal infusioner. Of which, A as a water tank, supplys water to B, and B supplys water to C. Because the inflow is more than the outflow of the B, the B is in the state of overflowing . The overflowing water is drained by D. The C has a very long drain tube. Between the long drain tube and the container of the C, there is a electromagnetic valve which is controlled by a water level transducer which is fixed in the container of C.Results: The B export smooth speed-constant (which can be adjustedto a standard speed of 1 milliliter per second ) but low pressured water stream The C export a pulsant and speed-constant but high pressure water stream. Being high pressure, any rectal resistance may be overcome. Any rectal resistance change does not change the invariableness of the average speed of the stream however , causes change on duration ratio of occupy to vacancy of the pulse. Conclusion: Speed-constant rectal infusioner can be made up by reconstructing of four general rectal infusioner's figure and configuration and reassembleing them according to fig 1. The maximal time or volum that patients can tolerate without leak during speed-constant rectal infusion best reflect the continence function for the rectum and the anus.
