A Study On The Therapeutic Behaviors And The Effect Of Health Education Among Community Population With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Objective To understand the present state of therapeutic behavior and the effect of health education among community population with type 2 diabetes mellitus, detect related measure for improving therapeutic effect of the type 2 diabetes.Methods Seven residents' committees of Tianmenshan street were sampled in Xinwu district in Wuhu city by multistage cluster-random sampling. 354 patients were divided into the group A and B according to residential place, health education intervention was conducted to investigated group A and B by experiment design research. Face to face interview was conducted to investigate type 2 diabetes patients' living behavior mode, physical and blood condition by self-made questionnaire .Result (1)386 patients were investigated and 354 effective questionnaires were acquired. Only 64 patients(18.8%) were acquired better synthetical treatment measures. The differences of level of FPG of the subjects were significant between the patients who had better therapy behaviors and not ones. (P<0. 01). (2) The group A was maked self- comparison before and after intervention by 6 months health education activity, its diet control behavior, medicine treatment behavior, physical activity behavior, disease-inspecting behavior, health education behavior and FPG show significant ameliorate. Compared with group B antitheses, its behaviors and FPG all got significant improvement. The group B was compared with A antitheses after intervention by 6 months health education activity. Its physical activity behavior and disease-inspectingbehavior get significant improvement. The group A was compared between the sixth and twelevth months, its diet control behavior, physical activity behavior, disease-inspecting behavior and diabetes knowledge grade show significant ameliorate.Conclusion (1)The total level of synthetical treatment measures was lower among community population with type 2 diabetics in Xinwu district in Wuhu city . (2)It is important to improve patient dietetic control and medicine therapeutic behavior (3)The anti-hypertension medicine and anti- lipemia medicine are taken very poorly. (4)The health education can improve therapy behavior. (5)Health education intervention may decrease blood glucose. (6)Health education intervention should been carried out in community to control status of diabetes.
