Objective To investigate the value of three techniques of microcirculation examinations, including the nailfold microcirculation , Laser Doppler Perfusion Imaging and transcutaneous oxygen pressure of dorsum pedis in evaluating clinical effects after Lipo-PGEi treatment in aged patients with low extremity atherosclerosis disease (LEASD).Methods Thirty two male aged LEASD patients with mean age 73.1+6.1 years(61~86) were selected from inpatient of the PLA General Hospital between April, 2002 and October, 2002. Thirty male healthy persons with mean age 70.8 ?.4 years(63~80)were taken as control subjects group. There was no obvious differences in age between the two groups. The 32 patients of LEASD were treated with Lipo-PGEi 10 micrograms per day for 14 days. Before and after the treatment, the alterations of clinical symptoms, ankle/ arm index (AAI), the nailfold microcirculation , Laser Doppler Perfusion Imaging and transcutaneous oxygen pressure of dorsum pedis were observed. Meanwhile, the 30 male healthy persons were examined with the same three techniques. Statistical analysis was performed by using SAS software.Result After treatment , clinical symptoms of the patients were improved greatly .At the same time , Laser Doppler Perfusion Imaging and transcutaneous oxygen pressure of dorsum pedis were improved significantly (p<0.01,p<0.05,respectively.) The nailfold microcirculation total scores decreased significantly (p<0.01).There are significant differences of the three microcirculatory indexs between the patients group and the control group .Conclusion The microcirculatory examinations including the nailfold microcirculation , Laser Doppler Perfusion Imaging and transcutaneous oxygen pressure of dorsum pedis seems have a good practical value in assessing clinical effects of therapy and clinical conditions of the patients, and have somewhat value in assistant-diagnosis for the aged patients with LEASD. |
