Clinical And Experimental Studies On Juvenile Bronchial Asthma Treated With Ping Chuan-fang

Juvenile bronchial asthma is a severe disease which is harmful to children. It characterized of whoop , dyspnea , chest stuffiness and cough time after time. It is caused by the EOS, T-cell and so on which lead the chronic inflammation of respiratory air-way. Asthma often outbreak or aggravate at nighttime and (or) early morning. Since 1990s, the morbidity of juvenile bronchial asthma moves up all over the world. Asthma can lead harms such as thoracic malformation, malnutrition, stunt and even endanger life. It severily influences the study and the life of the children. So the study on searching the ideal method and drug to treat asthma has already become an urgent and important issue of medicine society.Depend on the TCM basic theory, combined with modern medicine research, after years of clinical experience, my tutor proposed that the main mechanism of asthma is deficiency of the lung, spleen, kidney complicated with blood and phlegm stagnation in the lung. So releasing the lung-qi and dissipating phlegm to relieve asthma, activating blood flow and removing blood stasis and assisted with clearing heat is proposed as the main treatment principle of it. Ping chuan-fang (PCHF) prescription is carefully composed accordingly. The clinical investigation shows that PCHF can not only alleviate symptoms and physical sign of the patients effectively, but also shorten the course of disease and obviouslycan not only alleviate symptoms and physical sign of the patients effectively, but also shorten the course of disease and obviously improve the pulmonary function of the patient. The animal experiment showed that PCHF can prolong the asthmatic time and low the concentration of WBC, EOS, IL-4, ET-1 in the blood and BALF. It can restrain the collection of EOS in the lung and relieve the inflammation caused by EOS. It also can cut down the secretion of the respiratory air-way and relieve the obstruction of it. All these results are better than that of Aminophylin. According to these results we can conclude that PCHF can prevent and treat juvenile bronchial asthma in many ways and links.
