Objective:The purpose of the study is to investigate the changes of oral malodor in gingivitis patients by using different therapeutic methods. Methods:80 patients of gingivitis are chosen and randomly divided into four groups, including control group, mouthwash group, ultrasonic scaling group and tongue dorsal cleaning group. At the begining of the experiment, the halitosis of all subjects are rnensurated using Halimeter as bandline, then the patients in experimental groups are given different therapy respectively. The halitosis are rnensurated by the same enaminer in the 7th day and 30th day after therapy. Results:(l) In the 7th day after therapy, the ppb of HaS in all experimental groups descended, and it is very notable in ultrasonic scaling group and tongue dorsal cleaning group (PO.05). (2) In the 30th day after therapy, ppb of HbS in all groups is risen even in tongue dorsal cleaning group, but the halitosis in ultrasonic scaling and tongue dorsal cleaning groups is still low than that hi the other two groups (PO.05). Conclusion:Ultrasonic scaling and tongue dorsal cleaning are both effective therapeutic methods to descend the oral malodor of gingivitis patient.
