Two pot and field trials were conducted to study the effects of bio-organic fertilizer on the soil fertility and flue-cured tobacco yield and quality. The main results were as follows:1. Bio-organic fertilizer and sesame seed cake fertilizer could significantly promote the release of soil nutrients to supply tobacco growth, but when the amount of regular fertilization was reduced by 1/3 with bio-organic fertilizer application could affect the growth of tobacco in early stage. The treatment of regular fertilization reduced by 1/4 with bio-organic fertilizer application would be more appropriate.2. Treatments 3, 4 and 6 could significantly improve the activity of soil CAT and PPO, so promote the humification process of organic materials and soil organic matter, and increase the fertilizer use efficiency.3. Applied bio-organic fertilizer and sesame seed cake fertilizer could increase tobacco leaf area, and promote tobacco root growth, furtherly enhanced the absorption and accumulation of N, P, K in leaves, and increase the contents of flavonoid, phenol and plastid pigment in tobacco leaves.4. Applied bio-organic fertilizer and sesame seed cake fertilizer could increase the contents of N, P, K in flue-cured tobacco leaves, and promote total sugar accumulation, reducing the starch content, while there was no significantly effects on protein, nicotine and chloride content.5. Applied sesame seed cake fertilizer could increase the content of petroleum ether extracts, but decrease the total phenol content of flue-cured tobacco leaves. And regular fertilization combined bio-organic fertilizer application could reduce the petroleum ether extracts and polyphenol content, and all treatments increase the flue-cured tobacco aroma contents.6. Applied bio-organic fertilizer and sesame seed cake fertilizer could significantly increase the ratio of the top-grade leaves and the yield of flue-cured tobacco leaves with a highest value. Treatment 4 was the best.
