Three pairs of PCR primer were designed for 5'regulatory region,intron2 and exon3 respectively based on the result of many researcher.PCR-SSCP was utilized to detect the diversity of three amplified fragments. And then based on the results of SSCP and aequencing, distinguished different genotypes.Utilized SAS6.12 to analysis the relevance between genotypes and production performance. The results showed that all the three amplified fragments were polymorphic. 5'regulatory region and exon3 had two single nucleotide polymorphisms respectively, and intron2 had one single nucleotide polymorphisms . The polymorphism of 5'regulatory region and intron2 had not distinct relevance with Anas platyrhnchos production performance(P<0.05) .The transversion G→A lead to animo acid from Ile to Val ,and make the secondary structure of coded peptide chain more steady. The polymorphism of exon3 had distinct relevance with Anas platyrhnchos production performance .AA ducks had higher BW,SEW,EW and LMW than BB ducks(P>0.05), and not extict difference between AA and BB. Three genetypes had not difference on CMW,AFW,SCW. The polymorphism of exon3 and 5'regulatory region was on Hardy-Weinberg balance. This research studied the polymorphism of MSTN Gene, and the relevance of polymorphism and production performance which was not reported. This study promoted the use of MSTN gene on special economic animals, and identified the locus which related to production performance.
