Pellet mill is one of the four main machines of the feed processing machinery, which plays an important role in the feed processing machinery. Though the domestic feed processing machinery enterprises have made great progress in the machine design, manufacture, and improved the appearance and performance of the products, compared with the same foreign equipment, domestic pellet mills still have a lot of disadvantages such as unreasonable structures, low productivities, high energy consumption. These have restricted the international competitiveness of the domestic pellet mill. Studying the mechanism and the technology of structure optimization of ring-type matrix of pellet mill can improve the international competitiveness of Chinese pellet mills, and has the important theory significance and the project practical value in promoting the mechanic design and manufacture.In this paper, based on the existing products of MUYANG Group, the optimization calculations of ring-type matrix of pellet mills are carried out by means of Mechanism analysis and numerical analysis and proved by lots of experiments. Productivity and the quality of products have been stepped up. The specific works included in this paper are as follow:(1) The parameters of structure and performance of ring-type matrix of pellet mills are calculated.(2) The relationship of the diameter of ring-type matrix & press roller and productivity are analyzed, the load cases and the wear of ring-type matrix and pressure roller are discussed.(3) Alterable width of ring-type matrix experiment and alterable warp speed of ring-type matrix experiment are accomplished. The results show that the optimal group on the width of ring-type matrix and the warp speed of ring-type matrix can keep the energy consumption to a minimum and intend to maximize productivity.(4) Combination optimization on the width of ring-type matrix and the warp speed of ring-type matrix are verified by production.
