New sweet potato variety LONG SHU 10 breeding by Longyan Agricultural Science Institute is the high-starch variety. In order to speed up the promotion of new varieties, improve the yield, quality of sweet potato and enhance its role in agricultural production. So it is necessary to study the features, characteristics and good cultivation methods of LONG SHU 10.In this paper, quadratic general rotary unitized design was used to study the cultivation methods, the features, characteristics and the growth law of LONG SHU 10 .The resistance and quality of LONG SHU 10 was identified by the Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University and other units. Conclusions are as follows:The grown of stem LONG SHU 10 was fast at the pre-mid-term but slow in the latter of growth period. The root tuber expanded obviously in two periods at 60-90 days and 120-145 days after cultivated. The yield increased continuously in the latter growth period. LONG SHU 10 was Late Maturity variety. Its T/R value was suitable but less than JINSHAN 57 in entire growth period. The part of the plant on the ground coordinated with the underground which improved the production of sweet potato. LONG SHU 10 had strong resistance to adverse circumstances, Fusarium wilt and medium resistance to Pseudomonas solanacearum II. The drying rate of LONG SHU 10 was about 30% which was 3-4 percent higher than that of JINSHAN 57.The starch rate was 19.26 % which was 3% higher than that of JINSHAN 57.The taste quality was better than JINSHAN 57,and vitamin C content was more 2.90㎎/100g than JINSHAN 57. The production per 667m-2 of fresh root tube, dry root tube and starch was 2615.10kg, 784.50kg and 503.70kg which was respectively more 21.0%, 38.00% and 40.70% than JINSHAN 57.LONG SHU 10 cultivation test results showed that, the reasonable range t of he plant density LONG SHU 10 had a significant positive effect on the production of fresh root tube, and seeding delayed had a significant negative effect on that. When the seeding date was after the April 6th, the yield would be continuously reduced. In the certain cultivation period, the yield increased with the density increasing with a reasonable range. The optimized cultivation method of 2350.00-2600.00kg per 667m2 was that the cultivating date was from April 5th to 13th, and the reasonable density was 4023-4385 plants per 667m2.The potash fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer had the positive effect on the yield of LONG SHU 10, which was in contrast with the nitrogen fertilizer. Furthermore, the effect of potash was better than phosphate. In the cultivation term the fertilizers must be coordinated with the other two. The yield increased with the dosage of nitrogen fertilizer increasing, but reduced if the dosage was more than 10.54㎏. The effect of phosphate fertilizer was as same as nitrogen fertilizer, and reduced when the dosage was more than 63.781㎏. The optimized cultivation method of 2500.00-2700.00kg per 667m2 was that the dosage of urea per 667m2 was 6.22-13.96㎏, the dosage of calcium super phosphate per 667m2 was 23.09-53.27㎏,and the dosage of potassium per 667m2 was 24.74-50.05㎏.The key cultivation method of LONG SHU 10 was that it must be seeded timely from April 5th to April 13th at reasonable density of 4023-4385 per 667m2.Optimized fertilizers application can improve the yield of LONG SHU 10.We should keep the rule"major organic fertilizer, increasing potash fertilizer continuously, little nitrogen fertilizer". The dosage of urea per 667m2 was 6.22-13.96㎏, the dosage of calcium superphosphate per 667m2 was 23.09-53.27㎏ and the dosage of potassium per 667m2 was 24.74-50.05㎏.
