Ampelopsis sinica belongs to the Ampelopsis Michx,Vitaceae.Such genus plants are widely distributed in southwest, east and northeast of China. The roots of this genus mostly have effect on clearing away the heat-evil and expelling superficial evils for many diseases. The effects are evident. For the past few years, the researches on the genus mainly chose roots.Resently, there was a research on leaves of Ampelopsis sinica, carried out by Prof.Wu Kaiyun(Soochow University),founding that its water extracting solution had the role of antithrombus. In order to find out effective parts and compounds of antithrombus,we had used D101 macroporous resin to divide water extracting solution for several segments.Besides,in order to make further use of the Chinese herbal resources,we had undertaken a systematic investigation on the chemical constituents from the leaves of Ampelopsis sinica.Fourteen compounds were isolated from the water and ethanolic extracts of the leaves of Ampelopsis sinica by using a variety of isolation methods and technologies. And all of them were identified by using various modern spectrometric approaches, including IR,1H-NMR,13C-NMR,EI-MS,etc.They were:(R)-(+)-2-hydroxy-3-pheny- lpropionic acid(Ⅰ),sucrose(Ⅱ),quercetin(Ⅲ),taraxerol(Ⅳ),β-sitosterol(Ⅴ),oleanolic acid(Ⅵ),epicatechin(Ⅶ),β-daueosteml(Ⅷ),3,5-dimethoxyl-4-hydroxylbenzoic acid (Ⅸ),vanillic acid(Ⅹ),apigenin(Ⅺ),kaempferol(Ⅻ),rutin (ⅩⅢ),quercitrin(ⅪⅤ). CompoundⅠwas isolated from such genus for the first time.
