| Wild epidemic of "white nose disease" in fur animals already influenced the development of fur industry. Though most studies indicated it to be a metabolic disease, the real cause of its incidence was not confirmed. After expelling possible reason of parasitic infection, emphasis of study was focus on nutritional metabolic disease. Level of copper, zinc and selenium concentration together with correlated enzyme activity were analyzed in connection with symptom of "white nose" disease. Copper and zinc of serum and hair of extremity were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrographic method. Selenium of serum and hair of extremity were determined by fluorometric method. Copper, zinc-superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase of serum were determined by visible spectrophotometry. According to health and with disease, the data of raccoon dog was divided into groups. The result of data indicated that in comparison with normal raccoon dog , relative deficiency of trace elements were in raccoon dog with "white nose" disease. Through analysis of experimental data and theory, deficiency of copper, zinc and selenium was probably the one of reasons with regard to "white nose" disease in fur animals. The data of trace elements and correlated enzyme could become the reference value in study. It should be the first study about the relationship between level of trace elements and "white nose" disease in fur animals. This study provided precious data in order to reveal secret between level of trace elements and "white nose" disease in fur animals. It would be important guide book for raising and management in fur animal. In this article, the causes of "white nose" disease were analyzed on experience of clinical treatment by veterinarians in fur farms and reported similar metabolic disease in mammal and human in foreign country. Cause of disease, symptom of disease and method of prevention and cure were discussed in order to provide a novel way for prevention and cure of "white nose" disease. |
