To search biological activity of alfalfa saponins to the weaned pigs, weselected randomly 72 crossbred weaned pigs (Duroc×Landrace×Youkshire) with similar weight, then they were divided into 4 treatments randomly, each treatment was replicated 3 times and 6 piglets in 1 cage was taked as 1 experimental unit. The three trail groups were provided diets with different quantity of alfalfa saponins, while and the control group were supplied diet whith nothing. At last ,we analysised the growth performance, immune status, antioxidization capacity and digestive physiology of weaned piglets. The first experiment: To study the effect of alfalfa saponins on production performance. The results showed that:(1) Piglets fed with 1% and 2% alfalfa saponins were superior in average individual daily weight gain having significant difference (p<0.05)compared with the contol group , more foraging and low feed conversion rate.(2) The digestibility of crude protein become lower and was significant difference (p<0.05).It same with crude fiber ,but 4 groups had no significant difference (P>0.05).And the EE have no significant difference. (3) diarrhea of weaned piglets became lower, and there were no significant difference between them. (4) Total protein of serum content of trial group were significantly lower than that of control group ( p<0.05 ) ,and urea nitrogen become lower and was no significant difference(P>0.05).The second experiment: When we finished the experiment , we choice 3 piglets randomly per treatment ,to study the effect of alfalfa saponins on digestion physiological functions. The results showed that (1) Compare with the contol group ,the pH of 3 treatment group were no significant difference(P>0.05).(2)The alfalfa saponins can improve the amount of Bacterium coli and Bacillus acidi lactici , and effect became significant with amount of saponins increasing.(3) activity of enzymes become difference. The enzymes of duodenum became more active. The enzymes of pancreas became more active except amylase, It same with the activity of enzymes in the serum. The third experiment: To study the effect of alfalfa saponins on cholesterol and antioxygen capacity of tissue and serum.. The results showed that: (1)It can decrease the level of cholesterol in the tissue and serum ,and the effect was significantly(p<0.05) compare with the contol group. (2)The content of glutathione is different a little. Different tissue had its regularity and its suitable amount adding.(3) The content of SOD was significantly increased in liver, while the other tissue such as spleen pancreas etc was no significant difference. (4) The content of MDA in the liver decreased at the same time , and also the other tissue was no significant difference. The fourth experiment: To study the effect of alfalfa saponins on neutralization antibody (NA) lysozyme and nitrogen monoxidum (NO)of tissue and serum. The results showed that:(1) Alfalfa saponins can decrease valence of antibody in each treatment, especially valence of Pseudorabies.(2) The content of lysozyme significantly increase in liver spleen and muscle compare with the contol group in second treatment. But the activity of lysozyme become more higher than other treatment in third treatment.(3) Alfalfa saponins can increase the content of NO in muscle and serum, but the other tissue was not significantly different.
