Effects Of Metaxenia On Siraitia Grosvenorii Fruit Quality And The Selection Of High Quality Male Plant

Siraitia grosvenorii is specific medicinal material of Guangxi province. Yongfu,Lingui,Xingan,Longsheng of Guilin city were main production areas of Siraitia grosvenorii.Seven female cultivars were used as female parents.They were pollinated by pollen of six male varieties and a kind of mixed pollens to make 49 pollination combinations.Mensurated fruit setting-rate,fruit growth period,external fruit quality,internal fruit quality and so on.Studied the characteristic and intensity of Metaxenia,correlation of some characters and their regularity,selected high quality male plant by statistical analyzed results of all indexes.The results show that Metaxenia effects of Siraitia grosvenorii were obvious,the fruit quality was affected greatly by metaxenia and its utilization studies were very valuable in production.Five cultivars of seven female cultivars had metaxenia effects in mogrosidesâ…¤,total sugar,and soluble solid content.The most variance range of the 3 indexes were 21.05%,38.37%and 20.97%respectively among combinations of a same female cultivars.Indexes and strength of metaxenia effects were various among the female cultivars.The potential to improve quality of the fruits was great by selecting and combining of female and male varieties.One male variety having same positive or negative effects on metaxenia for different female cultivars were not discovered at all. Metaxenia effects of Siraitia grosvenorii were not significant difference in fruit shape,fruit size,fruit setting-rate,growth-period,seed quantity,seed quality and water-content.There were no significant correlation between seed quantity and many characters,so did the relationship of mogrosidesâ…¤and total sugar.Finally,this paper puts forward further research direction for Metaxenia on Siraitia grosvenorii.
