Based on introducting the conservation and utilization of genetic resources of Chinese fir, theinteractional relations between acquisition, conservation, utilization and cvaluation of genetic resourceswere analyzed in this paper.And the conservation techniques that "diverse methods, rolling developmentand integrated conservation and utilization" were discussed. Aimed at states on conservation and utilizationof genetic resources of Chinese fir, the roads and strategies for the future were also proposed.By sorting and analyzing the data of the 1st-generation plus trees systematically, it came to theconclusion that the plus trees follow a choice standard in the special forest age. In December, 1974 andNovember, 1976, the plus trees of 1st-generation Chinese fir were selected at first with the method of fiveadvantage trees. 419 plus trees and 2095 advantage trees were selected then. All the growth indexes of theselected trees changed regularly with the forest age. There were many factors that influenced the selectionof the plus trees, for example,thc tree region and origin, growth density the patterns of the mixing and soon.The selected plus trees should be of good heredity characteristic and outstanding type. The Chinese firselected with the outstanding type. The standards were changeable by the use, region, and so on. Therefore,in order to evaluate the plus trees, it was necessary to test the progeny of plus trees.Based on the selection of the 2nd-generation Chinese fir, the 2nd-generation of Chinese fir was heredityimprovement. The seed park collection area was built at 1983 in Yangkou. The total number of the plustrees of Chinese fir is 344 which of 159 come from the crossed Chinese firs, 79 from free pollinatedChinese firs, 34 from single stub form the seed park, 44 from good origination trees, 26 from sleeted testforest at stem age of the Chinese fir, 10 from Chinese fir plantation.In order to evaluate and utilize the 2nd-generation plus trees Chinese fir, the plus trees were tested. Theaim of selection was to choose the better from plus trees. Therefore, the selected wood should be applied,particularly the fast growth and steady produce trees. Moreover, to select good from them, heredity thatwas more considerable can be acquire.To select the materials used to build the seed park of the 3nd-gcneration Chinese fir was the precondition of it. By the investigation and the analy 65 plus trees were selected from 105 good trees The result was asfollows: Zhcjinng10, 206,43, 166, 32, 52, 169, 212, 5,236,23,58,13, 2,102, 12,18, 29, yk154,46,227,11, 174, 173, 14, 111, 127, 130, 158, 125, 154, 55, 126, 213, 108,94, 53, 170, 7, yk196, 187, 224,227,203,120, 134, 1233, 80, 149, 70, 57, 223, 153, 56, 3, 8, 182, yk688, 230, 215, 218, 210, 146, 4 and 200.By thetest of the progeny from plus trees, the results showed that the real heredity was significant.In total, 588 genetic resources coming from different plus trees were conserved in the lately gene pool.The quality of the abundant resources was high and its conservation rate was over 70%. The rate ofresources of the growth plus more than 15% was more than 91% in the genetic resources that grafted in2005 except very few resources. Almost all of the resources of the lately built gene pool showed the stronggrowth superiority and speeded up in the next year. Among them, the growth rate of 16 resources is morethan 200%~300% and 298 which is the best of all in the new gene pool would be the very valuableresource in the scientific research practicality and so on.
