Study On The Ornamental Vegetables And Its Application In The Landscape Architecture

Ornamental vegetables are developed in recent years, the connotation of the ornamental vegetables is that all the annual,biennial and perennial plants which have certainly edible and ornamental value, which can be applicable to the indoors and outside to arrange, as well as beautify the environment and enrich human life. Their germplasm resources are abundance. Actually, under the natural,diversified,sustainable development of landscaping construction, it is important and meaningful how to make clear to promote the designing level of the ornamental vegetables with the elements of landscape architecture. Thus,the systematic researches on the ornamental vegetables will indicate the academic significance and practical value as well. The main results were as follow:1.By the analysis of the connotation of the ornamental vegetables,the concept of the ornamental vegetables had been definituded; Further more, the relation and difference among the vegetables,flowers and ornamental plants were discussed.2.Having been investigating the ornamental vegetables in Shandong landscape Area, the germplasm resources of the ornamental vegetables were tidied up at present, 213 species of ornamental vegetables, including species and varieties, were concluded, which belong to 28 families and 51 genus. Among these species, 180 for annuals and biennials, 20 for perennials and 13 species are flowering shrubs. Concerned about the adaptability for local environment and the sight impression, 81 well-behaved species were introduced.3.Based on the characteristic of the ornamental vegetables, the classifications of the ornamental vegetables were discussed, and the ornamental value and the application forms of the ornamental vegetables in the landscape architecture were put forward.4.Using the survey questionnaire and statistical analysis, the configurations of the ornamental vegetables in the landscape were further studied. And the best sight of the ornamental vegetables was different because of the configurations of the ornamental vegetables with different landscape elements: the configuration of the ornamental vegetables with Rockery and Water emphasized particularly on the layout and the artistic conception, and the two aspects of layout and color were important for the configuration of the ornamental vegetables with the Path and Square, and the color was the most important for the configuration of the ornamental vegetables with the Flower borders and other flower styles, and the configuration of the ornamental vegetables with the Park Essays needed think of the artistic conception and the topic, and with the comfortable living environment being loved, the Landscape Buildings, configurations of the ornamental vegetables paid more attention to pleasant layout, but the Veins Borders, configurations of the ornamental vegetables needed consider the topic expression and the color. This offered more scientific reference for the applications of the ornamental vegetables. Meanwhile, the sight of the ornamental vegetables could be valued by quantitative analysis.5.Some problems and their resolvents were put forward by the investigation and the application of the ornamental vegetables in the landscape Area. Further more, the research and the prospective future of the ornamental vegetables applied in modern landscape architecture were also illustrated.
