Study On Regional Distribution And Standardization Production Of Pink Lady Apple In Fuping County

Pink Lady Apple, one of the fast growing varieties of apple in the world, has been introduced to our country in recent year and also Shaanxi and Shandong, Fuping county is one of the regions with concentrated grown apple trees of Pink lady. Studying the characteristics of Pink lady and its distribution pattern under standardized technology system is critical to speeding up the development of Pink lady apples. The study was carried out during 2008~2009 in Fuping county for the purpose of analyzing the its performance, output and economic benefit based on the current status of apply industry and natural conditions and of defining the cultivation regions in the county. Suggestions for improving the development of Pink lady apple growing in Fuping county were proposed. The conclusions are as follows:1. Fuping county, located in the south of Wiebei Loess Plateau with plenty sunshine and heat, longer frost-free days and fertile soil, is fine area for growing Pink Lady apples, a latest-ripening variety. Puluvial fan in front of Qiaoshan mountain in the middle and north part of the county, and tableland in the west part between 600—800m including 15 towns are places for growing quality apple tree of Pink Lady.2. The establishment of standardized orchard of Pink Lady includes critical techniques like dwarfing and close planting, bagging fruit, adequate irrigation and fertilization, and harvesting at proper time, to make sure of the quality fruit production.The plants which are the M26 dwarfing inter stocks were selected as dwarf firesides and the planting spacing is 2×4m2. High-quality double-layer and three color bags were used, late June was the best bagging date and the bags were removed twice on early October,the key of preventing and control black spot disease was spraying germicide twice before bagged. The covering grass was the effective way to improve the environment of orchard, rich soil organic matter and the sufficient supply of water ensured fruits to grow normally and harvest. Early November was the most suitable harvesting period of extremely late-maturing Pink Lady apple.3. To development Pink Lady orchard in Fuping county should adhere to the mismatching principle, that is, to establish high-standard and large scale orchard in the best apple growing region for opening the international market and initiating the product brand.
