Performance Evaluation And Application Of Bulk Curing Barn Constructed From Common Barn In Lijiang

Aiming at meeting the need of tobacco curing in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas in Lijiang, bulk curing barn which was constructed from common barn was characterized by improving curing quality, decreasing energy consumption, reducing labor intensity and saving labor force. In order to fully approve the advantage and disadvantage of the bulk curing barn, research on the characteristics, loading density, cured tobacco leaves quality and curing cost of the bulk curing barn was carried out, with the common barn as the control. The result showed that the bulk curing barn was simply scheduled, handled easily, and fulfilled the curing process truly. The bulk curing barn could combine the fresh tobacco leaves quality and the barn quite well, and made the cured tobacco leaves chemical components more harmonious. The quality and quantity of aroma increased obviously. The vertical temperature and humidity difference (1℃～2℃)decreased effectively, which made the whole oven of tobacco leaves yellowing and drying under the generally same temperature and humidity condition, and increased the whole cured tobacco leaves quality. The appearance quality of the cured tobacco leaves was superior to that of the common barn, the proportion of high grade tobacco leaves improved by 7.43%, and the average price increased 0.42 Yuan/kg. The curing cost per kg cured tobacco leaves of the bulk curing barn decreased by 0.1 Yuan, the output to input ratio increased by 41%, and the loading capacity increased by 30%～50%. The net output value increased obviously and could meet the need of moderate scale of tobacco cultivation development. While the system which temperature and humidity can be auto-controlled need more improvement.
