Objective:To explore the influence of hyperuricemia on brain hippocampus neurons of mice and its possible mechanism. Methods: 30 male c57bl/6 mice were randomly divided into hyperuricemia group and normal group. The huperuricemia group were intragastrically with oxonic acid(1000mg/kg.d) plus fed high yeast every day, and the control group were intragastrically with equal volume sodium carboxymethylcellulose. Regular detect the level of serum uric acid、creatinine、blood urea nitrogen、triglyceride、total cholesterol and observe the pathological changes of the hippocampus, The transcriptional changes of IL-1β and TNF-α were studied by RT-PCR, the SOD and MDA content were detected with spectrophotometer method. Results: Compared with the normal control group, the level of serum uric acid increased in the hyperuricemia group after 4 weeks(P<0.05), after 8 weeks, the brain hippocampus of HE dye showed the disordered arrangement of neurons, cell swelling, lack of part of nucleus, after 10 weeks, the brain hippocampus of HE dye was more serious. Compared with the normal control group, the level of creatinine、blood urea nitrogen、triglyceride、total cholesterol were no significant changed(P>0.05). the level of IL-1β increased for 8、10weeks(P<0.05), and TNF-α m RNA transcription 、SOD and MDA had no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion: Increasing serum uric acid can damage brain hippocampus of mice, and inflammation may result this injury.
