Objects: Systematic review of the clinical efficacy of the acupointsticking therapy in the treatment of the Chronic Gastritis. Methods: Search the clinical papers about the acupoint sticking in thetherapy of chronic gastritis from cqvip Chinese journal database, Wanfangdatabase, CNKI database and CBM database, from1989to2013. The processof selecting proper rearch papers, reviewing the quality, filtering theinformation and the analyzing of the database were based on the softwareRevMan4.2cooperatived by the Cochrane Collaboration.Results:289Chinese articles in total were retrieved from the VIP,Wanfang, CNKI, CBM Database.115articles were left after comparing thetitles, the authors and the abstracts. After removing83articles ofindividual case study, systematic review, abstracts, quantative analysisand experimental analysis,32articles were choosen. By analysing andassessing the articles based on the standarded requiements,12articleswere finally choosen.1534patients of chronic gastritis who participatein the treatment of acupoint sticking therapy were included in total.According to the quality assessment system of Cochrane—‘Jadad’, theall12articles were scored with1point which is low qualitive study.9of the articles have specific dignosis criteria, which account for75%of the12articles.7of the articles contain inclusive and exclusivecriteria, which account for58.3%the12articles.11of them has specificclinical efficacy which account for91.7%. Although all of the articleshas mentioned the “Randomized control trial”, none of them specify thedetails of the method.None of them analyzed the balance between the twogroups prior to the treatment, however, they mentioned that ‘P>0.05, nodifferences between two groups or it is comparable between two groups”.Only one study analyzes the side effects and the safety. Onlyone study has follow up check for6months. None of the studies adopt theblinding method and none of the study recorded any withdraw or exit.Meta analytic result:1.6papers were divided into Western medicine treatment group, resultsshowed there were no significant heterogeneity (Chi2=0.97,P=0.96,I2=0%),which means suitable for Meta analysis. OR=3.67,95%interval (2.42,5.56),Z=6.13, P<0.00001shows the acupoint sticking treatment of chronicgastritis was better than Western medicine treatment group, thedifference was statistically significant.2.5papers were divided into Chinese medicine treatment group, resultsshowed there were no significant heterogeneity (Chi2=1.53,P=0.82,I2=0%),OR=2.94,95%interval (1.54,5.61), Z=3.28P=0.001shows the acupointsticking treatment of chronic gastritis was better than Chinese medicinetreatment group, the difference was statistically significant.3. Funnel plot result shows the acupoint sticking treatment of chronicgastritis was symmetry and publication bias was limited comparing withboth Western and Chinese medicine treatment groups.4. Sensitivity analyses showed fixed effect model and Random effect modelwere OR=3.7995%Cl (2.70,5.32) and OR=3.5595%Cl (2.51,5.02), the effectof different OR value changed little, the sensitivity was good and resultwas stable. Conclusion: Acupoint sticking treatment of chronic gastritis hasbetter clinical effect, but because of the literature researchmethodology quality and report quality were low, it’s not yet to make sureconclusions about curative effect of acupoint sticking treatment ofchronic gastritis, which needs standard randomized controlled trial tofurther confirm the clinical effect.
