ObjectiveObservation method of abdominal vibration therapy experimental type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) rats fasting blood glucose (FBG), postprandial 2 hours blood glucose (2h PG), triglyceride (TG) and free fatty acid (FFA). To research the effect of abdominal vibration therapy on glucose metabolism and lipid metabolism of T2DM rats. Therefore provide experimental evidence for the clinical application of abdominal vibration therapy preventing or treating T2DM.MethodAfter 1 week of acclimatization,60 SD rats were randomly divided in two:a control group (12) and a model group (48). Rats in the control group were fed normal laboratory rat chow while rats in the model group were fed with chow containing high amount of sugar and fat.4 weeks later, the model group received a single i.p. injection of STZ (30 mg/kg), while the control group received a single i.p. injection of citric acid-sodium citrate buffer solution of the same volume. Rats were raised for another 2 weeks and fasting blood glucose levels were tested. Rats which met the T2DM standard were randomly divided into the model group, the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group. Abdominal vibration therapy was performed once daily for 20 times and every time 15 minutes. During treatment animals were bound to the table, the control group and the model group were also bound for the same period of time but did not receive treatment. The low frequency vibration in treatment group (300 times/min) and the high frequency vibration in treatment group (600 times/min) were treatment with mechanical vibration massager. Fasting blood glucose, postprandial 2 hours blood glucose, triglyceride and free fatty acid were measured and compared.Results1 BehaviorDuring the experiment, the control group rats active action, reaction alert, normal diet. the hair smooth, there were no obvious changes of drinking water and urine.Before the treatment, the model group、the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group rats depression, slow to action, wool rough, quantity of water quantity and urine volume was increased significantly, the packing was sour and changed high frequency.After the treatment, there were no obvious changes of the model group. Compared with the control group, the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group ease symptoms, activities increased, water quantity and urine volume was reduced, the packing change frequency slightly decreases.2 WeightBefore the treatment, the weight was no significantly difference between the groups (P> 0.05).After the treatment, compared with the control group, the weight of the model group、the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group dropped significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, the pair-wise comparison using among the model group、the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group showed the weight was no significantly difference (P>0.05). But more importantly, the weight of the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group was higher than the model group.3 FBGBefore the treatment, compared with the control group, the FBG of the model group、the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group rose significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, compared with the control group, the FBG of the model group、the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group rose significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, compared with the model group, the FBG of the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group dropped significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, the low frequency vibration in treatment group compared with the high frequency vibration in treatment group, the FBG was no significantly difference (P> 0.05).4 2h PGBefore the treatment, compared with the control group, the 2h PG of the model group、 the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group rose significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, compared with the control group, the 2h PG of the model group、the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group rose significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, compared with the model group, the 2h PG of the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group dropped significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, the low frequency vibration in treatment group compared with the high frequency vibration in treatment group, the 2h PG was no significantly difference (P> 0.05).5 TGBefore the treatment, compared with the control group, the TG of the model group、the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group rose significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, compared with the control group, the TG of the model group、the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group rose significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, compared with the model group, the TG of the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group dropped significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, the low frequency vibration in treatment group compared with the high frequency vibration in treatment group, the TG was no significantly difference (P> 0.05).6 FFABefore the treatment, compared with the control group, the FFA of the model group、the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group rose significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, compared with the control group, the FFA of the model group、the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group rose significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, compared with the model group, the FFA of the low frequency vibration in treatment group and the high frequency vibration in treatment group dropped significantly (P<0.05)After the treatment, the low frequency vibration in treatment group compared with the high frequency vibration in treatment group, the FFA was no significantly difference (P> 0.05).Conclusions1 T2MD rat model induced by high amounts of sugar and fat chow combined with single injection STZ (30mg/kg), was 73% successful. Symptoms and pathogenesis are similar to the T2DM persons.2 Abdominal vibration therapy can alleviate high fasting blood glucose and postprandial 2 hours blood glucose and improve glucose metabolism disorders.3 Abdominal vibration therapy can alleviate high triglyceride and nonestesterified fatty acid, and improve the disorder of lipid metabolism.4 Abdominal vibration therapy can effectively alleviate the symptoms of T2DM, but 300 times/min and 600 times/min no obvious difference was found between the therapeutic effect of two kinds of frequency. Abdominal vibration therapy frequency and treatment effect significantly affect ignorance.5 Abdominal vibration therapy can alleviate T2DM symptoms and control of the disease. And further research the mechanism of abdominal vibration therapy’s effect on T2DM is needed.
