Study On The Changes Of Lumbosacral Temperature In Normal Subjects By Acupuncture At Unilateral

"Weizhong (BL40) treating diseases in waist and back" is one of the classical theories coming from "the poem of four-command-points." It shows that the specificity of acu-points is the predominant content of the Acupuncture and Moxibustion.Objective:To prove the fact of the specific correlation between Weizhong (BL40) and the body surface, by using the infrared thermography (IRT) to monitor the temperature of human being, based on the theory of "Weizhong (BL40) treating diseases in waist and back." To observed the effect of the different treatments after acupuncturing or cupping in unilateral acu-point.Methods:To recruit healthy people who were qualified.68 adults were randomly assigned to 3 groups, the needling-Weizhong (BL40) group, the cupping-Weizhong (BL40) group, and the needling-Fuliu (K17) group.25 people in the first group,25 people in the second group, and 18 people in the third group.To divided the low back into 6 areas, the bilateral first Bladder Meridian of Foot Taiyang (BL), the bilateral second Bladder Meridian of Foot Taiyang (BL), and bilateral lumbosacral areas. We measured and recorded the temperature of those areas when acupuncturing or cupping by using the thermal imaging infrared camera.We mainly observed the experimental result and compared those differences:(1) To observe the variation of temperature after needling Weizhong (BL40).(2) To compare and analyze the variation of temperature between needling and cupping therapy in Weizhong (BL40) auc-point after treatment.(5) To compare and analyze the variation of temperature between Weizhong (BL40) auc-point and Fuliu (K17) auc-point after needling.(6) To observe and plot a graph of temperature against different times, the before, the retaining duration, and the after for each group.Results:(1) In the needling-Weizhong (BL40) group, all of the 6 areas rose obviously in temperature after acupuncturing(p<0.05, p<0.01).(2) In the cupping-Weizhong (BL40) group, the temperature in the 6 areas changed slightly after cupping(p>0.05).(3) In the needling-Fuliu (K17) group, all of the 6 area went up extremely in temperature after acupuncturing (p<0.05, p<0.01).Conclusion:Results showed that needling single-Weizhong (BL40) cause elevation of the temperature of healthy persons’low back. The temperature ranges between 0.2℃ and 0.35 ℃. The temperature went up obviously in 5 minutes, and then increased steadily in the 17th minute. The study data demonstrate that it had the specific correlation between Weizhong (BL40) and the low back of the body. By using the infrared thermography, we confirmed that the theory of "Weizhong (BL40) treating diseases in waist and back."...
