Good sleep quality is what people generally want to have. But now a lot of people who have sleep problems can not find an effective solution, especially in general population who are not sleep disorders, but usually plagued by sleep problem. Mindfulness training is a psychological intervention way which stems from the ancient meditation of the East, and it was scientifically developed in the West thirty years ago. Up till now, mindfulness training has been widely used in the treatment of psychological illness、enhancing positive emotions and improving all aspects of quality of life.This study investigated the effects of mindfulness training helping participants improve the quality of sleep, and it was divided into two sub-studies.Study1investigated the relationship between sleep quality and mindfulness, and to test the mediating effect of anxiety. The study selected152subjects who were asked to finish FFMQ、 PSQI、STAI. According to relevant analysis, it is found that there is a significant positive correlation between the level of mindfulness and sleep quality (r=-0.36, p=0.000), and it is also found that anxiety plays an intermediary role in the relationship between sleep quality and mindfulness level. From study1, these can be concluded that there is a positive correlation between mindfiuness level and sleep quality, and that anxiety is an mediator variable between the two. Study1explores the mechanism of the relationship between mindfulness and sleep quality.Study2investigated the intervention effect of mindfulness training on sleep quality of non-clinical general population, and explored its mechanism further. The study enrolled63subjects taking randomized controlled trial design. These subjects were randomly assigned to the mindfulness training group and the blank control group. The mindfulness training group participated in mindfulness training for8weeks, but the blank control group was not intervened during this period. The two group were given psychological evaluations before and after, and the subjects of two groups filled in FFMQ、STAI、PSQI. The results showed that relative to the blank control group, sleep quality and anxiety level of mindfulness training group were significantly improved after8weeks intervention, and anxiety level played an mediator role between mindfulness level and sleep quality. Study2can draw the following conclusions:mindfulness training can significantly improve sleep quality of participants, and the mechanism is that mindfulness training reduces anxiety, thereby improving sleep quality.From these studies, these can be concluded:There is a positive correlation between mindfulness level and sleep quality, and that anxiety is an mediator between the two. They explore the mechanism of the relationship between mindfulness and sleep quality. Mindfulness training can significantly improve sleep quality of participants, and the mechanism is that mindfulness training reduces anxiety, thereby improving sleep quality.
