The health care system is a combination of medical instruments, with the functions ofmonitor and process the patients’ real-time multiple physiological parameters. Thesemeasured parameters can be timely to remind doctors to make an accurate judgment of thepatient’s condition, thus the use of health care system greatly improving the work efficiencyof the medical staff. However, traditional monitoring equipment is often too bulky, highenergy-consuming, and not easy for users to carry. Wired-monitoring equipment is likely tocause pressure on the patients mentally and physically. To overcome this shortcoming ofhealth care system, people began to focus on the application of the wireless communicationtechnology in the health care system. Wireless communication technology is now widelyused in the field of medical monitoring including telemedicine, patient physiological datacollection, drug tracking and remote help, etc. As a kind of emerging short-range wirelesscommunications technology, ZigBee have the advantages of low-power, low complexity,low cost, high reliability, and it is increasingly favored by the users.This paper analyzes the wireless sensor network technology, ZigBee technology and itsprotocols, find out a solution for community health care based on wireless sensor network.Based on the analysis of the ZigBee network topology and the demand for the actual use ofthe environment, and also taking the function of the realization, network coverage, networkflexibility into account, we decided to use the tree topology to the formation of thenetwork.The network architecture of this program has been given in the paper, in theprogram we select CC2530System-on-Chip (SOC) solutions as the core unit of thehardware circuit. We design a wireless sensor network system for monitoring patient bodytemperature and pulse, the system consists of three parts, sensor nodes (Terminal), routernodes and coordinator nodes which connect with the PC. Senor nodes is responsible for thecollection of temperature, pulse and alarm signal, router nodes is responsible for thecommunication between the sensor nodes and coordinator nodes, coordinator nodes isresponsible for the establishment of a wireless sensor network, a summary of the datacollection and the communicate with the host machine (PC).On the selection and improvement of adaptive networking and wireless network routingalgorithm, we have analyzed the adaptive routing algorithm based on ZigBee tree topologynetwork. The algorithm is improved on the basis of hierarchical LEACH routing algorithm, analysis defects of the algorithm which and do some moderate improvement. TheOMNET++simulation result shows that the improved algorithm of wireless network ismore suitable for wireless medical monitoring.After the design is completed, we test the system compat with temperature sensor andexisting pulse sensor. The test result showes that the system can be fully realized thefunction of monitoring multi-user and multi-parameters at the same time. It proves that it isa stable, low cost design with practical values.
