| With the continuous increase of chronic diseases, the need ofmedical monitoring system also keeps increasing. However, thetraditional monitoring system has the disadvantage like big size, high cost,fixed position, complicated wiring, which limits the application of themonitoring system in the actual medical treatments.The rapid development of microelectronics technology, computertechnology and communications technology has brought new opportunityfor the medical system’s development. The wireless communicationtechnology has already obtained widespread application in industry,agriculture,military, environment,medical etc. And the wireless sensornetwork has also provided new solutions for medical monitoring system.This paper proposes a kind of wireless medical monitoring systembased on emerging ZigBee technology. As a new communicationtechnology, ZigBee technology has the characteristics of short range, lowcomplexity, low power, low speed, and low cost. The monitoring systembased on ZigBee technology has the characteristics of being wireless,portable, durable, and easy to maintain. Terminal node of the monitoringsystem, combining with the acquisition module of body temperature,blood pressure, oxygen, can monitor the patients’ physiologicalparameters and offer pathological information for disease diagnosis.This paper firstly introduces the network topology and protocol ofZigBee technology in detail, and proposes the overall system design of the wireless monitor system based on the system’s requirements analysisof both hospital and the patients. Tree topology is selected to establishZigBee network and chip CC2530is selected to build terminal node, andwe select the proper acquisition module of body temperature, bloodpressure, oxygen, and design the circuit and software program. At last,based on the monitor system’s basic function of communication and dataacquisition, this paper designs experiments to test the function, and theresults show that the monitor system can measure the required data andsent to the upper network, and have achieved the target in design. |
