Based on the review of forestry division, took Yong'an City of Fujian Province as a case, a framework of forestry division method at county level based on GIS was put forward. The factor-system of Yong'an forestry division was established. Using the traditional methods that were in common use, Yong'an forestry division was carried out. The forestry division methods at county level based on GIS (included the method based on GIS with integrated modeling and the method combined Stepwise Cluster Analysis and GIS) were discussed.(1) Combined the spatial analysis of GIS with forestry division at county level, a framework of forestry division at county level based on GIS was setup. The factor-system of Yong'an forestry division was established, and the factors were extracted with the spatial analysis.(2) Using the traditional forestry division method at county level and the methods based on GIS, the forestry divisions on different units (included town, village and forest compartment) were carried out respectively. The result showed that the forestry division on village-unit was the best.(3) The forestry division method at county level based on GIS with integrated modeling was processed through Principal Components Analysis, building the integrated model, Discriminate Analysis, seeking the ideal number of divisions and eliminating the scrappy polygons. The outcome of the forestry division showed that the method based on GIS with integrated modeling can reflect the present situation of the forestry development, distinguish the relative dominant subdivisions reasonably, and give a specific development direction in forestry development. According to the statistics of the subdivisions' forestry state, the relative dominant subdivisions were showed obviously.(4) By means of Stepwise Cluster Analysis, Discriminate Analysis, divisions' dissolving, and eliminating the scrappy polygons, the outcome of the forestry division method combined Stepwise Cluster Analysis and GIS can't distinguish the areas of relative dominance preferably. It should be subdivided on the base of the former results.
