Ten kinds of complex reagents were employed to study the feeding attraction activities of amur sturgeon (Acipenser schrencki) in this experiment. The results for the attractions of complex reagents to amur sturgeon were different, only four kinds of compounds' attracting activities were prominent (P<0.05). The four kinds of Chinese . herb medicine attractants were added into the basal feed respectively to feed amur sturgeon in the next growth test. At last, we determined the reactive oxygen intermediate values in blood and the antioxidant enzyme activities and free amino acids in muscle of amur sturgeon. The feasibility of Chinese herb medicine attractants as commercial feed is also discussed in the paper, and it provids some instructive materials for further studies on Chinese herb medicine attractants. The main conclusions of the experiment are as follows:1. The feeding attraction activities of complex reagent 1, 5, 7 and 8 were all prominent. The results were analyzed by one-way ANOVA, and the comparison of their feeding attraction activities are as follows: complex reagent 8>complex reagent 5>complex reagent 7>complex reagent 1.2. The above four kinds of Chinese herb medicine attractants were added into the basal feed respectively to feed amur sturgeon in the growth test. The results are as follows: amur sturgeon larvae could accept the feed, and the results of the test groups were better than that of the controlled group which was reared only by the basal feed.3. Reactive oxygen intermediate values in blood cell of amur sturgeon reared in the test groups were all lower than those of the controlled group. At the same time, antioxidant enzyme activities in muscle of amur sturgeon in the test groups were all higher than those of the controlled group. The results indicate that Chinese herb medicines have some magical effect on killing reactive oxygen intermediate values and enhancing antioxidant enzyme activities.4. The flavour amino acids and whole free amino acids in muscle of amur sturgeon reared by the Chinese herb medicine feed were higher than those of the controlled group. This is more helpful to meet people's requirement to aquatic animals.
