To ensure the safety, efficacy, stability and controllable of radix glehniae and to realize standardization planting, the contents of full nitrogen, alkali soluble nitrogen, effective phosphorous, rapidly available potassium and organic substance in the soil acquired from the native place of radix glehniae were analysed the influence of these nutrients on growth, development of glehniae plant and content of rough polysaccharide of radix glehniae. The data demonstrated that the high content of full nitrogen in the soil can facilitate the increase in number and weight of leaves remarkably; and the high content of orgnic substance in the soil can promote the prolongation of leaves and lead to increase the numben of roots of the plants significntly; whereas content the soil nutrient has no influence on the content of rough polysaccharide in the herbaceous medicne.
