In this article, the pharmacokinetics of the Chinese herbal medicine compound preparation (CHONGKANG) was studied in rats and in dogs with the pharmacodynamic index of the increased percentage of the SOD activity in serum. The pharmacokinetics parameters were calculated with the pharmacokinetics procedure by the pharmacodynamic means and the D-E means respectively. The data of T-E and T-D' were both fitted to a one-compartment model with one-stage absorption after oral administration .The main pharmacokinetics parameters in rats were as follows: Xmin=1. 037g/Kg, Kel(E)=0.447h-1, Ka(E)=0.614h-1, tP(E) =1.902h, t1/aKel(E) =1.552h, t1/2Ka(E)> =1.129h, t0(E) =0. 014h; Kel(ED) =0. 680h-1, Ka(ED)=0. 819h-1, tP(ED)=1. 338h, t1/2Kei(ED)=l. 019h, t1/2Ka(ED) =0.846h, t0(ED) =0. 061h.And in dogs, Xmin=0.098g/Kg, Kel(E)= (0.368±0.014) h-1, Ka(E) = (0.525±0.019) h-1, tP(E) = (2. 267+0. 082) h, t1/2Kel(E) = (1.888 ±0.070) h, t1/2Ka(E)= (1.322±0.049) h, t0(E) = (0.094±0.015) h; Kel(ED)= (0.506±0.114) h-1, Ka(ED) = (0. 643±0. 093) h-1, tP(ED)= (1. 793+0. 317) h, t1/2Ke1(ED)= (1. 425±0. 340) h, t1/2Ka(ED)= (1.095± 0.149) h, to(ED) = (0.111±0.040) h.The results showed that CHONGKANG can bring effect relative quickly in rats and in dogs after oral administration, tp was short relatively. The effect of the drug can maintained long.In this article, the dose of CHONGKANG in clinic was also dicussed. According the studies, it was suitable for dogs to take CHONGKANG orally at the dosage of from 0. 098g/Kg. bw to 4. 000g/Kg. bw.
