Slit shooting technology can measure various pose parameters of flight projectile, in particular, it compensates for the area scan camera's defect that it cannot measure projectile's attack angle. Therefore, slit shooting technology is an important method in range test. However, the widely used film-style slit camera has too many problems, such as complex operation, too much human participation, complicated post-processing, to satisfy the digital and real-time requirements. With the development of image sensor technology, the shooting rate of linear scanning CCD, CMOS image sensor can meet the requirements of high speed imaging. Thus, linear scanning CCD or CMOS camera can replace the film camera and makes the slit scanning possible. After reading lots of paper related with high speeding photography and slit shooting, I acquire a solid understanding about this technology. Combined with current business image sensor, I construct a high speed slit shooting system based on linear scanning CMOS camera using the PC platform. The imaging simulation has passed, too.The rest of this paper is structured as follows:First, based on the demands of range measurement, I design a a high speed slit shooting system based on linear scanning CMOS camera. The Major work is carried out as follow: 1) The requirements on the auxiliary light source in the range test condition are analyzed, and then the appropriate light is chosen; 2) The lens'imaging feature is analyzed, focal length calculation is carried out, and the focus location is adjusted; 3) The CCD and CMOS image sensor's performance is compared, the parameters based on target's characteristics is analyzed, and then the appropriate camera is chosen; 4) The rate of frame grabber is calculated, the type of bus interface is analyzed, and then the frame grabber is chosen; 5) The transmission process of signal system is introduced, and the trigger board is selected; 6) The store pattern of image data is designed; 7) The entire hardware system is Assembled.Then, by using VC as development platform, I design an image acquisition software based on multi-threading technology. This software can real-time display and store image data.And last, I simulate the projectile target's three-dimensional model and the shooting process of the high speed slit camera system. And then achieves the simulation results of projectile target. Based on this, I then measure the projectile's velocity, nutation angle and rotation rate based on previous simulation results.By using linear scanning CCD camera or CMOS camera in slit shooting, the operator can get rid of the tedious film processing and interpretation. With the support of a dedicated computer-assisted processing, analysis and measurement software system, the parameter of flight objectives'movement and posture can be measured automatically, intelligently, real-time with high precision and high reliability.Thus, it can greatly enhance the performance and processing speed of slit shooting technology, shorten the test cycle of weapons.
