The dissertation origined the 863 item—"Modularized, parameterized, intelligent and cooperative design system of great technology equipment". Metal structure, the crucial component of overhead traveling crane, holds maximum load of the whole carne, whose design efficiency and quality will affect the capability of the whole crane directly. Metal structure of overhead traveling crane is mechanical product that has many part and parts and fixed structure. It adapts to parameterized design, because its design is achieved by changing dimension of main structure and ameliorate local structure. Based on research of metal structure and design theory, the dissertation establishes parameterized design method of metal structure, studies the key technology in parameterized design, and achieves similar fast design of metal structure finally.By dint of the object-oriented development tool-visual basic 6.0 and redevelopment technology, the dissertation develops parameterized design system of metal structure in SolidWorks, which studies key technology of parameterized module drive and drawing adjustment. The dissertation solves 3D module parameter of metal structure by molding board, creating feature module, position sketch, up-down assembly design, parameter database and parameterized drive; solves 2D drawing adjustment by creating drawing and adjustment technology of drawing element (view position, view scale, list, dimension position .etc).Parameterized design system of metal structure realizes the following functions: assembly design, parameterized drive and drawing adjustment and so on. Its drawings meet practical produce requirement of corporation fully. Practice indicates, design efficiency and precision of metal structure is largely improved than ever. It will bring tremendous economy benefits. The development of parameterized design system of metal structure not only reduce working intensity, but also lets engineers vacate more time to jump in development of new product.
