Study On Incorporate Of Interior Design Into Construction Projects

In the twenty-first century, the greatest of human consciousness is aware of the importance of environmental protection to the survival of the Earth. The low carbon economy is a great step of human society following the agricultural civilization and industrial civilization, which is characterized by low energy consumption, low pollution, low-emission-based economic growth. Carbon emissions in construction industry account for a large proportion of the total. Besides better ergonomic design and project cost control, it is important and meaningful for interior design to be supportive for low-carbon economy.The second part of this thesis investigated into the relationship of renovation of residential real estate, general contracting methods, interior design, and architecture design. The design process and construction processes has been combined to optimize the exterior and interior design pattern with emphasizing the teamwork value, meeting clients'cost and function requirement, and facilitating the scale production.The third part of the thesis involved the investigation of weakness in construction design management, including inadequate feasibility studies, lack of design monitoring, and weak information management. Based on the investigation, the design and implementation policy of involving interior design into architectural design was studied. Several key issues identified in implementation included the time of interior design early intervention, analysis of consumer groups after intervention, establishment of cycle design system, menu-fitting program development, and promotion of unification of modular delivery method. Analysis from theory and case studies in the thesis reveal errors in current practice in the construction of energy saving buildings.The last part of the thesis is a case of Jinling Liyang Hotel's lobby. Compared with original construction delivery method, the cost was reduced by 50% by early intervention of interior design into architectural design. Though the focus might vary from decades to decades, the significance of the research is an attempt to investigate into the trend and investigate the cost benefits. At the end of the these, the future of integration of interior design and architectural design has been discussed and the challenges as well.
