The excitation system is an important part of synchronous generator, It makes direct impact on the operating of generator, and it also be very important for power system to be safe and stable. Then, it the generator adjust excitation is an important aspect for the teaching of the electrical power system and automation, and the experiment of excitation based on microcomputer is important aid to the teaching.The microprocessor-based excitation experimental device it includes two parts of hardware and software. The hardware is the foundation of the device, and it consist of the module of data acquisition , the module of the main system of microcomputer , the module of display ,the module of synchronized triggering and the module of communication etc. The software is the core of microcomputer-based excitation control, and the control of microcomputer-based excitation depends on the commands of the software, which consist of the main program and the interrupt program. The main program consists of the power-on initialization, the interrupt permission, the functions of excitation algorithmic and the program of data acquisition. The interrupt program consists of two parts of the program of frequency measurement and the program of synchronous trigger pulse output. The design of microprocessor-based excitation experimental device is to assist the teaching of experiment and further improve the quality of teaching.
