With the rapid development of China's logistics transportation, as an important logistics equipment, lifting machines, become more and more speed and heavy, therefore, the mechanical performance requirements have become more sophisticated. Because of the frequent operation, many of which are random dynamic loads, the welding steel under low stress repeatedly, will produce fatigue phenomenon, when fatigue failure occurs, the component will be a sudden rupture, leading to catastrophic accidents and personal equipment casualties. For the gantry crane, in generally, the strength and stiffness are meet the design requirements, but in order to prevent the occurrence of fatigue fracture, also to meet the fatigue design requirements,people over a large number of long-term research, from the microscopic mechanism of fatigue occurs, the macroscopic features of structural fatigue to the fatigue theory formation and the measures of preservation, have made great achievements. With the development of computer technology and finite element analysis, fatigue life analysis has been extensively developed. By means of this method, the designer can compare fatigue lives quality of different projects at the design stage, check that whether the fatigue life meet design requirements, and also optimize design according to the analysis results.Through access to vast amounts of data, sorting out the basic theory of fatigue, lay the foundations for the analysis of gantry crane's metal structural fatigue; using APDL command stream language of ANSYS software achieve the running process of Parametric Modeling of gantry crane and checked a Rail Container Gantry Crane's strength and stiffness are meet the requirements; it is based on F.E.M standard (revised edition 1998) and Chinese "Crane design"(GB/T 3811-2008) draw up gantry fatigue load spectrum according to the actual working condition; fatigue strength is calculated on gantry structure under typical fatigue load spectrum with Visual C++ program, and compared the differences between them; based on the calculated fatigue data, come up with measures to improve the gantry crane's fatigue strength in structure design, and the make a chart of fatigue Nephogram; using Visual C++ software produced a new software based on the FEM standard to calculate fatigue strength, integrated them from calculation, result reduction and the generation of script of fatigue Nephogram.
