The rubber tire container gantry crane is commonly the handling equipment for the container in the quay,which not only has good mobility, but also can be a variety of goods such as bulk cargo and container handling. Because of its high working speed, as well as relatively complex and heavy working conditions, at the same time, it is loaded by the cycle of alternating load, thus the metal structure prone to fatigue cracking, that is a serious security threat to the normal produetion.For a long time at home and abroad design of rubber tire container gantry cranes remain in the static-analysis and simplify analysis stage. Generally the analysis of the strength, stiffness and stability and other aspects are based on the conventional design procedure and based on experience; to take a larger factor to ensure the reliability and safety performance of the design, therefore, design cycle is long and the accuracy is low. While the cranes in the service stage, the open welding, cracking or breakage happen occasionally, the service life of crane largely depends on the metal structure using life. It is very urgent to evaluate fatigue strength and fatigue life, and it is great significance to strengthen the research, and to popularze theories and design methods.This paper describes the fatigue theory, fatigue life, fatigue load spectrum and the cumulative damage theory; Based on Quayside50t-26.5m The rubber tire container gantry crane metal structure, using common finite element analysis software ANSYS to set up finite element model and to conduct static analysis and modal analysis, rationally analyse the loading conditions and loading methods; and adjust the local place of the model constantly. Starting from kinetic theory, we can use the FEM software to carry out modal analysis of the rubber tire container gantry crane which can help to extract the first few stages of the natural frequencies and mode of vibration. Using advanced fatigue analysis software MSC. fatigue analysis of the crane structure in approximate actual working conditions to carry out the whole of life of The rubber tire container gantry crane, to evaluate fatigue life of The rubber tire container gantry crane for fatigue stress and life assessment, distribution of the structure fatigue life presents directly to people, it is great scientific potential in theoretical guidance and practical application to do the work.
