Research On The Methods And Models Of Transformation And Reuse In Existing Residential Space

With the maturity of the market-based economy system in our country, the existing residential communities in many cities were faced enormous challenges in the process of social structure transformation and rapid urban modernization. A great number of existing residential communities which were not remedied were experienced the material aging and social decline, induced the trend of overall decline in old city and further affected the city development. In the view of the residence buildings in Taiyuan city, the construction were more concentrated in urban centers since reform and opening-up, which had the feature of high land values, dilapidated buildings and backward function, even exist some security risks. they can't meet residents living in behavior change and rising demand for modern material and spiritual life, and affect the standard and quality of urban living. Many residents have much complaint and hope to completely change the bad living conditions.In this paper, re-use theory and practice of existing residential buildings both at home and in abroad were analyzed, the development, strategies and tools of re-use existing residential buildings which were multi-layer brick mixing structure since reform and opening up in Taiyuan were discussed based on the analysis of a large amounts of data and examples, combined with the empirical analysis of cases in Taiyuan, origins of the declining existing residential communities and the transformation feasibility were revealed, and corresponding feasible solutions were putted forward too. These two aspects, the construction update policy and energy technology innovation strategy, were researched in-depth and specific, and tried to find a suitable solution for the development of existing residential space.The study on existing residential multi-storey brick buildings renovation of Taiyuan city in this paper, it was a branch of re-use of existing building systems. It was hoped to initiate more concerned and correlative in-depth research in this field.
