People from each country worldwide pay an unprecedented high level of attention to education because of the internationally increasingly intense competition of knowledge and talent. Since the reform and opening up, China's basic education has been changed through developing localized and diversified educational mode from an impasse that lack of flexibility. To tie in with the improvement of education and school quality, the design of elementary school buildings should seek higher platform under the premise of meeting basic needs such as numbers and function etc; at the same time, the concept of sustainable architecture and the diversified situation of worldwide architecture also have a significant impact on the trend t of elementary school buildings. Under the influence of these background factors, the development of school buildings calls for personalization. This essay, from this point of view to discuss how to find a diversified and personalized way suitable for self-development in the design of school buildings, thus to avoid "all the same" situation.Through a survey to a number of newly built elementary schools that after China's education reform as well as the case studies to the design of today's outstanding foreign and domestic elementary school buildings, this essay firstly summarizes the main factors that affect the personalized design of elementary school buildings, of which are geographical characteristics, educational philosophy and design concept, thus to establish a theoretical framework on personalized design; and on this basis, to research and summarize the design experience of outstanding elementary school buildings from domestic and abroad, concludes possible ways of the personalized design to elementary school buildings entity and space from the point of view of geographical characteristics and educational philosophy; then digs out the inspiration to the personalized design of elementary school buildings from the diversified and personalized situation of the postmodern architectural design concept; finally, it sets a system of personalized design methods of elementary school buildings through deep research to these three aspects, so it hopes to help the creation and construction of the modern elementary school architecture, thus plays the role of attracting valuable opinions.
