Safety evaluation, also known as risk evaluation or risk assessment, was first developed by the insurance industry, dating back to the thirties in the 20th century, which refers to measure safety or danger of the system according to relevant standards, norms and safety indictors, and to rate the degree of risk, so as to propose the security measure of controlling system risk, within combination of existing scientific and technical level and economic conditions. Safety evaluation is an important technical means of implementation of safety management, as well as an important component of safety engineering, with the ultimate aim is to give related measures of controlling or eliminating risks and preventing accidents, and to lay the foundation for ensuring safety objectives of the system, establishing safety planning of system and achieving comprehensive optimization of the system safety.Railway passenger station, as the important infrastructure, it takes on the tasks such as the safety,accuracy and convenience of passenger boarding or alighting, processing baggage and package and handling mail, organizing passenger train arrive and depart safely and on schedule. It is the link of contacts and exchange between different countries,cities and regions. It is an important constituent element of the whole social system, actively promote development of the city and the social. Its safety of railway transportation is matters vital to national well-being and the people's livelihood, so evaluating the safety of railway transportation and putting forward preventive measures has a very important significance.In this paper, on the basis of analyzing related research of domestic and foreign, with the combination of China's actual conditions, first of all, the author systematically studied the traffic safety of railway passenger station, which included the analysis of the system of it, of the station traffic work of it, of the characteristics and of factors impacted traffic safety of it. Next, the safety evaluation of railway passenger station transportation has been systematically studied, which mainly included the analysis of basic theory, method and evaluation process, as well as the analysis of method and process of the traffic safety evaluation of railway passenger station. Then, on the basis of this, establishing the index system of traffic safety evaluation, after studied the models and methods of traffic safety evaluation of railway passenger station, determining the weight of the index with Analytical Hierarchy Process method, and using entropy techniques to amend the weight, so as Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation in selecting the schemes, with improvement of membership function method of circular distribution which used in determining the degree of membership. Finally, Chengdu station as an example, using Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation to simulate and analyze the practical application of evaluation methods and models, the author obtained traffic safety evaluation result of Chengdu station and proposed numbers of recommendations for enhancing the traffic safety of Chengdu station, so as to provide decision-making basis for actual traffic management of it.
